Mumbai, After success of “Lipstick Under My Burkha”, the promoter of the movie Ekta Kapoor revealed that it was very difficult to release the movie. “They said that chick flicks don’t click,” said Ekta. She expressed her happiness on the success of the movie.

While talking to the media, when Ekta was asked that why did she decided to release the movie only on four hundred screens, she said that first of all they were not getting the screens. She was forced to call distributors herself to request them to help her in releasing the movie. “We also carefully examined the target audience and picked the theatres and it paid off. Now there is lot of curiosity about the movie. Even today people are calling me saying they are not getting tickets,” claimed Ekta Kapoor. Ekta said that when producer Prakash Jha called her for the release of the movie, he said that it is “her” type of movie. Ekta said that there are no art house cinema or popular cinema, a movie is a movie, either good or bad.
The Director of the movie, Alankrita Shrivastava said that initially people were very negative towards the movie but after success of the film equations have changed. She hoped that success of her movie will pave way for comfortable release of indie movies in future. The two of the star casts, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur were also present during the press conference. Konkana Sen Sharma and Ratna Pathak Shah were missing.
