New Delhi, Army Destroyed Pak Post. Army released video of the attack today. The Army Spokesperson Met. Gen. Ashok Narula informed to the press in New Delhi today that in a counter attack to Pakistan’s on going war on LOC, Indian Army today retaliated by destroying Pakistani Post across LOC in Nowshera sector.He said that this action is taken to counter terrorist infiltration and continuous Pakistan Army shelling along the LOC. Indian Army used Bofors in the operation. All the political parties have welcomes the action. Pakistan has denied any such occurrence.
In response to the recent increase in infiltration bids from the Pakistan side of the Line of Control, the Indian Army struck a Pakistani forward post in Nowshera sector. Calling for proactive counter-terrorism operations in order to maintain peace and stability in Jammu-Kashmir, Major General Ashok Narula, briefing the media on Tuesday, said that infiltration activities must be curbed as they might negatively influence the youth in the area.
“Pak Army has been providing support to armed infiltrators by engaging our forward troops from their weapon emplacements and pill-boxes closer to the Line of Control. At times they have not even hesitated to target villages in the proximity of Line of Control,” Narula said.
Saying that the Indian Army has been proactively dominating the LoC region, Narula added that locations aiding infiltration of terrorists have been identified and destroyed. “Infiltrations are likely to increase to with melting of snow and opening of passes,” he said.
“It is essential to bring down the number of incidents in J&K so that the youth are not influenced,” he added.
An undated video released by the Army showed a Pakistani post being bombarded with artillery fire. Responding to the development, Pakistan Army Spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor termed the allegations as “false”. “Indian claims of destroying Pakistani post along LOC in Nowshera Sec and firing by Pak Army on civilians across LOC are false,” Ghafoor tweeted.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley came out in support of the Indian Army. “Indian Government supports the actions of Indian Army across LoC. Such actions are needed to ensure peace in J&K. Army taking preemptive &measured actions to counter terrorism in valley & disengage Pak posts across LoC ,” Jaitley was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.
On May 21, the Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt in the Nougam sector of North Kashmir by killing four terrorists. Two jawans were also martyred in the encounter. On May 1, a Pakistani Border Action Team crossed into Indian territory and ambushed an Indian Army patrol. They killed two jawans and mutilated their bodies.
