White Tigers are back to their natural habitat after almost four decades. Because of the herculean efforts of Mr. Rajendra Shukla, who is at present Commerce, Industry & Employment minister of M.P. and an MLA from Rewa, It could be made possible. Mr. Shukla has not only managed to bring back white tigers to Rewa but also has created history by opening world’s first White Tiger Safari. White tiger safari is situated in the jungles of Mukundpur, which is some 15 kilometres away from Rewa and 50 Km from Satna Railway Station. White tiger safari is named after King of Rewa, Maharaja Martand Singh. Maharaja Martand Singh had captured first white Tiger “Mohan” in year 1951 from the jungles of Rewa. A visionary and highly educated, Maharaja Martand Singh started breeding white tigers in his Govindgarh Palace. All the White Tigers world over belong to Mohan’s lineage. White Tiger Safari is worth visiting. Watching white tiger in open is very exciting and thrilling. It is designed in such a manner that 100% visitors get to spot white tiger.
